Aslan Careers Session / Cafe – June 2013

Sat 7 September 2013

On a pleasant summer afternoon on Sunday 30 June, Aslan FC hosted its first ‘Aslan Careers Session’.

The Session aimed at providing Aslan players with practical help on CVs, cover letters, interviews and career advice, and was overseen by Aslan Director Mark Boardman, Aslan Coach Anthony Harry, and volunteer Klenn Yeo.

With sunlight filtering through the casement windows of the Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, the workshop kicked off with attendees and volunteers enjoying an assortment of light food and beverages as they listened in on a talk on Enterpreneurship by Anthony Harry.

The tide then turned onto practical CV and interview help supported by an infrastructure of four laptops. Shortly after the participants and volunteers paired up for one-on-one career advice and discussion.

As twilight approached it fell to Mark Boardman to wrap up what turned out to be a broadly industrious afternoon, complementing the comparatively more informal social get-together at Friday’s regular Aslan Cafe session – the latter displayed below.
